Dolgellau Gold Belt was the focus of a gold rush back in the 19th century before the Klondike and some mines including the Clogau Mine were operational into the 1990's. Welsh gold from this mine has been used in the making of royal wedding rings for over three-quarters of a century and it is likely that William & Kate's
wedding rings will be made from Clogau Gold.
