This statue on the Quayside at Barmouth Harbour captures the typical dolphin grouping which can be witnessed off Barmouth. This video link shows just such a small school of
dolphins riding the bow wave of a small boat just off Barmouth.
A ferry, the origins of which date back to the 12th century, still operates across from Barmouth Harbour to the Fairbourne side of the Mawddach. They operate most of the summer,
tides and
weather permitting, allowing holiday makers to cross and enjoy a ride on the Fairbourne Railway. (Check times with Emily's Ferry Telephone: 07765 502404)
