Our short break
Barmouth holiday cottage provides the ideal accommodation for up to four adults to enjoy Barmouth and the pleasures of its wonderful sandy beaches. When dropping down into the town at Barmouth from the cottage, it affords the holiday-maker a spectacular view of Barmouth Bay (pictured above), showing the main strand and across the bay to Fairbourne and Llwyngwyril. From the cottage itself, there is a grandstand view of Tremadog Bay overlooking
Llanaber beach towards the Lleyn Peninsula.
- The seaside at Barmouth has been a focal point for tourists since the railways came to the town in the 1860's
- A stroll along the prom will reveal a strange Easter Island carving,
the lifeboat station and museum, the sailors' institute, donkey rides and other amusements and that which has attracted swimmers and surfers to the resort for so long - the wonderful sea and golden sands, which hold the Blue Flag award
- For a live view of the promenade, sands and shoreline at Barmouth please see the beach webcam courtesy of Gwynedd Council
- You might notice the lifeboat crew going out or coming in from a practice, if you are viewing the web cam on a Sunday morning or Wednesday evening
- If you take a look at the live webcam view (courtesy of Gwynedd Council) of the outer harbour during the last week of June you may see the contestants' yachts assembling for the Three Peaks Yacht Race in the main channel.
- Barmouth is not the only place for marvellous beaches, nearby you have Dyffryn Beach and the magnificent Harlech Beach both of which are National Nature reserves.
