Brother's IslandYnys y Brawd has been the haunt of this statue since the summer of 2010. He is like the guardian of the Mawddach Estuary, located strategically on the top of the sand island where the southern end of the main beach intersects with the western end of the Mawddach
In the week running up to Christmas, as with all the Barmouth Beaches, he has been subjected to repeated falls of snow, icy blasts and record low temperatures.
He can't wait for summer just like the rest of us !
Luckily the Irish Sea, as an extension of the Atlantic Ocean, is normally between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius all year, other than in the shallows, so hopefully perhaps he won't have to wait too long to shed the remains of his white overcoat.
